Great Job! The Relay For Life of Rowan County’s total is over $386,000 and still counting, with over 350 cancer survivors filling the track during opening ceremonies. Hearty congratulations to each of you on a very successful Relay For Life of Rowan County.
Every aspect of the Relay was inspiring, from the number of survivors, thousands of luminary candles lighting the track, the great entertainment, to the hundreds of people walking the track. This Relay was an AWESOME event! Most importantly, the funds you helped raise for the Relay For Life will contribute directly to your American Cancer Society’s mission: preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from this disease.
I greatly enjoyed working with each of you, and feel proud to have had a small part in your success. All those hours of meeting in the past months have paid off—Relay For Life in Rowan County was a huge success!
The American Cancer Society has made great progress because of communities like Rowan County and neighboring towns that help us in the fight against cancer. On behalf of the American Cancer Society staff and volunteers, thank you for your hard work and dedication.
As you know, we are not done with our 2008 season yet! Our goal to raise $400,000 is within reach! Our post event bank night will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, June 3rd from 5:15pm – 6:30pm. If you cannot make it, please contact Brooke Moose at 704-675-5082 or brooke.moose@cancer.org to make arrangements to pick up any outstanding money for this years event.
I hope to see you at our Wrap Up Celebration at Dan Nicholas Park in the Company Shelter on June 17th (rain date June 24th) when we celebrate our success for a wonderful Relay season!
